Bulletin of Central and Eastern Europe – Puls of the region: Similar or completely different? Policy of increasing security of gas supply in the CEE countries, Agata Łoskot-Strachota

The countries of Central and Eastern Europe have a range of similar determinants of their energy/gas policy that differentiates them from the other countries of the European Union. None of the countries of the region is a major gas producer and the majority (besides Romania and Poland) does not produce it at all. Therefore, they all are strongly dependent on supplies from Russia, most of them was or is an important transit country for Russian gas, and finally, most of them are insufficiently protected from possible interruptions of gas supply.
