It has been twenty years since the conditions of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia were agreed. Despite different models of economic transformation chosen by the Czech Republic and Slovakia, both countries still share many similarities; both have fairly strong, open economies, both are dependent on export and have relatively strong banking systems.
